Fall 2020 - Virtual Exhibition

CHIAOZZA: COLOR GATHERS SPACE

CHIAOZZA, the collaborative studio of Adam Frezza & Terri Chiao, explores play and craft across a variety of mediums. In this show, the duo exhibits large environmental works that dance upon the lines between painting, sculpture, design and architecture. The painted wooden forms experiment with vibrant color relationships, iconic shape-making, and perspectival movement to highlight a chromatic world where shapes have tones, objects create echoes, and color gathers space.

Naturally evolving from the duo’s Wooden Wall Works series, the pieces in this exhibition create an entirely new body of work, debuting for the first time here at Westchester Community College. The impulse is to consider the gallery a laboratory for experimentation and discovery; the hope is for the viewer to also discover and feel empowered to create and experiment within their own practice.
