Shoshanna Weinberger’s art presents a vivid exploration of her Caribbean-American roots and the complex layers of identity. Her artwork, including drawings, mixed media, and installations, delves into her personal experience of race and identity. Weinberger, seeing herself as a 'visual anthropologist,' uses her art to examine the representation of marginalized bodies and narratives of otherness. This exhibition is an invitation for introspection. It encourages viewers to engage with and reflect upon their own identities, their perceptions of beauty, and how these are shaped and reshaped by societal norms and personal experiences. Weinberger's work serves as a catalyst for a deeper understanding of the complex tapestry of identity in contemporary culture.

"Shoshanna Weinberger is a Caribbean-American artist, born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in the US.

She holds an MFA from Yale University, School of Art (2003) and a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1995).

Based in Newark, NJ since 2006, her work reflects on her heritage and addresses themes of identity and beauty norms through various mediums, including paintings, collage, installation, and sculpture."
